Coney Opens for the 2012 Season May 26th

Coney Island will open for the 2012 season on Saturday, May 26th with special opening weekend pricing. Coney Season passes for 2012 are on sale now. If you purchase by May 1st, every pass purchased includes one free guest ticket, a $21.95 value. Additionally, the Pipeline Plunge will reopen in 2012, after a brief absense.

The Cincinnati Warbirds WWII Swing Dance and USO show will also be held on Saturday May 26th. For more information on that event, visit www.cincinnatiwarbirds.org

125th Birthday Bash at Coney Island

Saturday, June 18th Coney is celebrating its 125th birthday. The official day is Tuesday, June 21st. But Coney is celebrating a few days early. There are plenty of special events planned that day including:

-After 4pm Super special pricing: Sunlite Pool $5.95 per person, classic rides $5.95 per person, or Pool and Rides Combo ticket of $9.95 per person!

-Q102 will be live from 6-9pm, and will be giving away hundreds of birthday prizes.

-$1.25 concessions specials all day long

-Free Hot Dogs from John Morrell from 4-7pm near Lakeside Pavilion

-Complimentary birthday cake, while supplies last.

-Historical Memoribilia display inside Lakeside pavilion, including the Centennial Time Capsule items

-Coney`s rides will stay open until 10pm, and Sunlite Pool will stay open until 9pm (the pool area will remain open for fireworks viewing).

-At 10pm, Rozzi`s Famous Fireworks will celebrate the event with a spectacular fireworks display.

2011 marks Coney`s 125th anniversary

2011 Season passes are now on sale for only $89.95 (ages 5+). If you purchase four or more passes, you can save $5 off of each pass!

2011 marks Coney`s 125th birthday. As part of the 125th Anniversary, Coney is holding a Commemorative brick program. For additional information on this program, including pricing, visit this page on Coney`s website. Coney will also make a donation on behalf of all brick holders to Cincinnati Children`s Hospital Medical Center, a longtime friend and partner of the park. The official birthday is June 21st. That is also when the time capsule in front of Moonlite Gardens will be opened (that was placed there in 1986, for Coney`s centennial.

History of the Island Queen, New Historical Photos

Check out a new history feature on Coney Island Central detailing the history of the Island Queen. River travel used to be an integral part of Coney Island. Check out the history of the main steamer and see some unique pictures of the fine vessel. Read more here.

2010 Season Pass Sale & Park closed until Memorial Day Weekend 2010

2010 season passes are now on sale for only $99.95 (ages 5 and up) now through April 1st. Junior passes (2-4 years old) are available for only $29.95. Sunlite Pool and Coney`s classic rides will open for the 2010 season on Memorial Day weekend, 2010.

Coney introduces the Twister in 2009

Coney will introduce the Twister water slide complex in 2009. The complex features four water slides; two body slides and two tube slides. Construction is set to begin in the spring on the $2 million project, with the slides opening with Sunlite Pool for Memorial Day weekend, 2009.

This new slide complex will be "the biggest single project we’ve done" at Sunlite Pool, said Vic Nolting, Coney`s President.

Coney Island to add three new attractions in 2008

For the 2008 season, Coney will be adding three new attractions. Turtle Parade will be a kiddie ride with turtle shaped cars. Additionally, River Runner, a viking ship, will debut on the banks of Lake Como. The third new attraction to debut will be a Eurobungy Dome, and it will be an upcharge attraction.
